Extremely Good Book on SiteCatalyst

This is an excellent book on Adobe SiteCatalyst, written by one of the predominant leaders on the software, Adam Greco. If you want to understand, in depth, the technical side of SC, then this book is for you. I bought it for this very reason. However, a need did arise after purchasing the book for more in depth information/guidance on how to actually use SiteCatalyst. I would have liked the book to have covered SiteCatalyst's Reporting capabilities. Specifically, tips on reporting as well as examples (best practices) of reports people, or even Mr. Greco, have built with SC in the past.

I learn best from real world examples, use cases, etc., but will defend this book in any day of the week!

ONE of the deciding factors when I bought this book was that it was published in 2013 and most importantly, the information provided is timely and relevant to the most recent version of SiteCatalyst.

Well Done Mr. Greco!

Final advice...If you have anything to do, in any way or role whatsoever, with SiteCatalyst, BUY THIS BOOK!

Should be included with every SiteCatalyst implementation

This book literally has anything and everything you could ever want to know about Adobe SiteCatalyst: features you never knew existed, features you are using but not using to their fullest potential and the best explanation you'll ever get on how the features you are currently using actually work. Having gone through a re-implementation of SiteCatalyst in the past year I wish I had had this book before hand but there are just as many improvements we can make to correct these issues based on what is in Adam's book. Honestly every SiteCatalyst user should read this book to ensure they are getting the most they possibly can out of the tool. Adam does not exaggerate his "Insider" status.

About the Author

Scott Empson is the chair of the Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology degree program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he teaches Cisco routing, switching, network design, and leadership courses in a variety of different programs (certificate, diploma, and applied degree) at the postsecondary level. Scott is also the program coordinator of the Cisco Networking Academy Program at NAIT, an Area Support Centre for the province of Alberta. He has a Masters of Education degree along with three undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in English; a Bachelor of Education, again with a major in English/Language Arts; and a Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology, with a major in Network Management. He currently holds several industry certifications, including CCNP, CCDP, CCAI, CEH and Network+. Very helpful guide sort of...

Good
lots of cisco commands along with examples on how to use them.

Bad
No index for individual commands, Only chapters like OSPF and EIGRP.
If you have a general idea about what you want to do the guide is great you can find your command in one of the chapters.
If you are starting out, finding a command is hard sometimes and takes up your time. "ip-domain name test.com" is the command correct and if not what chapter would I look for an example?

Commands for Cisco routers and switches

Good book for commands as I am learning how to configure routers and switches. Possibly, this a better book for someone that has a better overall understanding of procedures for cisco set up. For a newbie, it would help if there were a bigger index of the commands, or possibly a way to search what it is that you are trying to implement to get to the proper commands. Overall, this book has helped me and is worth the cost.

Wow! What a difference!

After listening to a colleague promote this book time after time, I finally gave in and bought it, and am I sure glad I did! This book is so straight forward in its approach yet provides the information necessary to really improve and notice what companies are doing to keep your loyalty or those who are doing their best to just keep you satisfied. He goes through the process of helping you discover what you're doing right and what needs improvement. This book also points out the importance of the individual in business for promoting or hurting future sales. Being on the road frequently with business, his travel stories related to similar experiences I've had with airlines, restaurants, and hotels at numerous locations across the country. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve their customer loyalty skills and increase their referral business.

I collect both vintage and off-the-shelf jars, which we use for all sorts of things — including some fun crafts. This is a high-quality book with lovely photography, clever layout, and a high quality binding and it includes a history of Mason jars. As someone involved in entertaining for several years now, we are using Mason jars for made-in-advance salads (see Salad & Dressing To-Go Jar, page 94) , with a layered look that everyone enjoys. But I wanted to decorate with some Mason jars for parties, too, and found some great ideas here. I love the Glamorous Place Setting Favor in a little Mason jar to take home, and the candlelit Moroccan Lanterns — with metallic lace doilies on the side — are nice, too.

About the Author

M.D. Roblyer has been a technology-using teacher, professor, and contributor to the field of educational technology for nearly 40 years and has authored or co-authored hundreds of books, monographs, articles, columns, and papers on educational technology research and practice. Her other books for Pearson Education include Starting Out on the Internet: A Learning Journey for Teachers; Technology Tools for Teachers: A Microsoft Office Tutorial (with Steven C. Mills); Educational Technology in Action: Problem-based Exercises for Technology Integration, and Introduction to Systematic Instructional Design for Traditional, Online, and Blended Environments. Currently, Dr. Roblyer is Adjunct Professor of Instructional Technology and Distance Education (ITDE) at Nova Southeastern University, chairing dissertations for ITDE doctoral students. She serves on editorial boards of various technology and research journals, is past-president of two AERA Special Interest Groups, and current officer in AERA’s Online Teaching and Learning SIG. Her current research focus is on understanding student success in virtual school environments and exploring ways to increase interactive qualities in virtual courses. She is married to William R. Wiencke and is the mother of a daughter, Paige.

Pearson is a Greedy Moneygrubbing Publishing Company!

I was required to buy this for a class. The $100 loose leaf version offered no access to the online "check your understanding quizzes" or any other videos or links that were in the book. I contacted Pearson and they said that the loose leaf version, even though it was very expensive, did not include those features. Boo Pearson! Way to fulfill the stereotype of the greedy publishing company!
